Problems streaming Amazon videos - have Prime account

Sorry if this already appeared. I thought I posted it earlier but it has not shown up and I cannot get the Forum search to work to find it.

I have an Amazon Prime account but am having problems streaming video which is included. These are fairly recent and seem to result from the content being so well protected against illegal access it is becoming difficult for legitimate users.

Just focussing on my tablet (android) - when I try to watch a TV show as part of my sub, I am redirected to a screen which tells me to download Amazon. apps and uncheck secure content in my security settings. Then I am told to install the app.

Apart from being very intrusive (it gets access to your friends, your photos etc), at this stage I get a warning flag up which says this app can send SMS messages and may cost you money!

Anyone else streaming Prime video content? How do you do it ? ( I cannot get it to work at all on my laptop - a whole other raft of issues.) it used to work, seems like the problems are caused by them tightening the security.

I think you're being a tad paranoid. In order to view Amazon Prime shows on a mobile device you need to use the app, just download it, you wont be charged or have texts sent etc (does your tablet even have a sim card installed).

You've been posting about this for weeks now, you really need to learn how to use the various search facilities (particularly to find posts made by you and threads started by you) to keep things in one place. Here are a couple of previous threads, including the one you started earlier today.

Actually I fixed the site security settings issue (,and thanked responses) , and my query related to trying to view Amazon video in desktop mode on my tablet.

Other posters here recommended I try the Amazon app for Android mode instead which is what I was trying to do and what this query was about. I assumed they were two different queries.

I do not know why but when I try to do a forum search to track down a previous query, it just returns the screen at me without any option to type in a search.

Amazon have their own rival Android store so some of their apps can only be installed outwith the Google Play store which your phone will warn can be a security risk as you need to be careful where the application was sourced from. The security groups can be quite general so an app can sound a lot worse than it actually is.

I did have the Amazon app installed at one point on my Android phone but only use Amazon video through a browser on a PC or on a console.

I have that problem, but if you select Advanced Search from the Search this Forum or Search Forum dropdowns it will work from there.

To find your own threads or posts either select your name towards the top of the board, just above the board title or click on your name on one of the posts you have made and you can list all your threads or posts from there.

All this has been explained previously but the OP never returns to the thread where the explanation has been given to describe what happens when they try it, hence the hint of exasperation in my previous post!

Sorry I should have said thank you for pointing out I need to use advanced search to find forum items. so shall try to remember in future. It would be useful if they also fixed the general search option.

What's wrong with the "general search option"?

Plus other threads by the OP on the same issue.
