Prudential Renewal & Quidco

Hi all,
I have been using the Prudential and Quidco cashback combination
for all our car insurnance policies for my household, but I am
now approaching renewal.
I am faced with either starting a new policy again
with Prudential via quidco (with same details) or switching
to Swiftcover (but concerns about service/policy coverage).
Ethically, I guess I should be switching to Swiftcover and then back to Prudential next year if the cashback offer is still there (and their prices
still competitive). However, I must admit I would prefer to just take
out a new policy with Prudential with Quidco, but I am concerned
they might be annoyed when I send them proof of no claims of discount
which clearly comes from them!
Any comments or feedback from others that have / are in a similar
renewal situation? I did do a forum search, but apologies if I have missed a similar thread!!!
Thanks, Shanker

Evening,
I was recently in a similar position with Lloyds TSB Insurance which, like Prudential is underwritten by Churchill. When I rang the renewals Line I asked if it was possible to take out a 'new' policy online and was told that that would not be a problem, so long as I provided my proof of NCB in regards to the new policy. However in the end I went with Prudential because they are currently including free breakdown cover.
I'd check with Pru renewals but don't see why this would cause a problem and there is always the possibility that you would also get the free breakdwon cover as I suspect the system would see you as a 'new' policyholder.
Also, I don't see why they would be 'annoyed' at receiving proof of NCB from a Pru policy. Beside which, for a £130 cashback I woldn't give two hoots whether or not they were annoyed with me.0 -
i've stayed with the same insurer on many occasions. The auto renewal they send through is ALWAYS dearer than the previous years - wonder how many people fall for this and just continue?
I always do the usual confused.com etc and if the same insurer comes up cheaper than my renewal I sign up fresh and cancel the old policy. Its the insurance companies own fault for not offering you the best deal in the first place.0 -
My insurance is up soon and I got a quote for £180 from Pru.
Going through Quidco it says I can earn up to £130 cashback.
Does this mean I will, or are there loads of clauses.
It seems too good to be true that I can get my car insurance from a reputable company for the sum of £50 when this year I am paying £207.
What I am really asking is...will get £130 cashback or part of it.
I am insuring my car for myself and my wife as a second driver.

I went with prudential through quidco. At the time they were offering £100 cash back. I got it ok, it just took about 2 months. On the other hand I got my buildings and contents with Churchill and although after an enquiry it is now tracked I still haven't actually been paid yet. Both insurance quotes were cheaper than the ones I got from my existing provider so the cashback was an extra to me.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I've just renewed my Prudential car insurance by going through quidco, and opening a new policy.
I did this on Saturday, but the quidco payment has not tracked. The quidco cashback was the reason for my choice, as my price was £189, and the £130 cashback means I pay £59.
I see there's a 14 day cooling off period, but I've seen that Prudential is a sureshop merchant, and they have resolved about 60% of enquiries, so wondering if it doesn't track what would be the chances of getting my money back, especially since I bought my policy by renewing via taking out a new policy rather than being a genuine new customer.
There is also no rule on the quidco home page that existing customers can't take out cover in this way.
My policy doesn't start until the 24th, and haven't even received my renewal quote yet!! I did this early because firstly the £130 cashback has now been reduced for October, and secondly, my 4% Capital One credit card reverts to 1% in a few days, but if I don't get this cashback then it really makes false economy.0 -

I too was with Prudential last year for my car insurance and renewed it through Quidco with £125 cashback, but it hasn't tracked and have sent an enqury, It tracked no problem last year.
As for the proof of NCD I received a letter today asking for proof so I just phoned them up and gave them the policy number and they transferred it over to the new policy.0 -

I just looked at about 4 different threads on pru/quidco, if you look at my post history today, you will see that in all the threads most people have not returned to update (I found 1 person who returned an update). So please update when you have been given the reason why it did not track.0 -
I have sent an enquiry via quidco now, and I'm still waiting to hear back, but will update when I hear more news.0
