Where do I stand? Please help!

Hi all,
Yesterday I went to a new hairdressers (I had previously been for consultation) at the consultation I showed the hairdresser a picture (a friend was with me) the woman said it was totally doable, talked through it and gave me a quote.
When I turned up for my appointment I showed her the picture again so we has a clear understanding what I was going for.
On went the foils and hair dye etc... washed, cut, dried.
At the time I could see one particular colour standing out that shouldn't as it should have blended, but it wasn't completely dry yet so waited, I did tell her the blonde looked very strong..
My friend turned up (different one than before) and I point out a stripe underneath and said I looked like a skunk to her..
Another hairdresser cut and styled my hair, then the other came back and said the lights in her salon don't do it justice and to take a good look in natural light..
It was 5pm when I left the salon, so pitch black out.
When I returned home my friend said it looked nice but thought it wasn't what I showed her in pictures. Unfortunately I have terrible lighting in my house and reluctantly waited until this morning to have a good look, my under colour was dark and the blonde on top is just stripes and an awful mess. I've literally cried it's that much of a mess, I messaged her and sent pictures of what it looked like in good lighting and what I'd ask for, to prove its nothing like it...
Another hairdresser said she can help me and suggested I just ask for a refund and not to let her try to correct it
( which in all fairness is right. She saw the colour it should be, she's done something completely different and knows it's not right, if she didn't do it right in the first place I shouldn't need to give her the opportunity to correct it)
She's point blank refused me a refund after I contacted this evening, where do I stand please ?
It's too close to Xmas to be forking out for this to be corrected elsewhere!
Thank you in advance x

Lots of things can affect how your hair takes colour, it's a bit unrealistic to expect a hairdresser to recreate a colour exactly from a photo. I can see why the hairdresser has refused a refund if they've offered to try to correct it for you.0

But the colours not close, whatsoever.
The picture I went in with is red with flex of bronze and bits of blonde
I got a deep purple which is almost black with big strips of blonde n copper.. I look like the village idiot!
Why should I have to let her waste my time trying to correct it if she messed it up in the first place?
I'm more than happy to pay for my cut, but the colour is so upsetting I haven't been out since (except to the shop with my hat on!)
I just have big.stripes of blonde absolutely nothing like what I asked for whatsoever! And if it wasn't possible she should have said straight off, and on the other hand if she felt a colour hadn't reacted well with my hair she could have said then and there to save her own back, but she told me to go away and look at it in "natural light".0 -
Lol. Brilliant stuff. I nearly spilled my coffee. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

I certainly feel for you and as you have not posted photos, it must be bad.
From a contract of service, which I think this would come under. From a legal standpoint you have to give her the chance to correct the mistake. You unfortunately cannot just demand a refund as it is plausible that she has the skills to correct the issue.
If you attempts to correct the issue and it does not look remotely like what you asked for then you can ask for a refund.
I know this sounds unreasonable, however it is the procedure you need to follow. She can certainly offer you a refund if she genuinely believes that she cannot correct the error.0 -
Is it her own business or is there an owner/ senior person you could complain to?0

Yeah, let's see a photo. A rear shot would be fine so as to not identify you.You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Please post a photo - I could do with a laugh.."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I cant believe that the lighting is so bad in a salon that a colour would look so different in natural light. There is a big difference between a red and a purple almost black.
Everyone that has a colour done in that salon must look completely different when they get home to what they expected if thats the case.
I dont understand why you didnt stay and ask her to do something at the time, especially as your 'friend' called you a skunk.0 -
I've dropped my digestive inn my cocoa.0
