Worn car seat.

I'm not too sure if this has been covered before.
I have a Kia Ceed 09 reg but the vehicle is in excellent condition, apart from the side of the drivers seat.
I noticed the wearing a while ago which made me decide to buy a seat cover. I became baffled because I couldn't remove the head rest to make the cover fit perfectly. I bought a cover that just throws over the entire seat but the wearing became worse. It has now gone thread bare and it's causing me concern. I suppose nothing can really stop the wearing as it's where your bottom rubs on the side when getting in.
Is there anything that can be done? maybe buy a new seat which would probably cost more than the car is worth or can these be repaired. Any help would be just great.
Kind regards Jeff.

Some options off the top of my head
- A genuine seat cover may be relatively expensive, but shouldn't need a full seat.
- I have seen 'smart' type repairers who can replace just a section of the cover, if the seat foam is still ok.
- You might find a used one from a breaker's yard , either a full seat or just the base

Thanks for the reply.
The foam is fine,,,as yet. It would be a fortune for a seat as there are air bags in the seat back rest which is where the flawing is.
The seat covers did cost me a fortune which stated they were for a Ceed. Went to Kia asking how the hell the head rests were removed and got an abrupt answer "They don't".
I shall ask around locally and see if someone is good with a needle and thread.
Kind regards Jeff.0 -
Buy a used seat in better condition. Be wary of cheap unbranded seat covers that say airbag friendly etc. You dont want to find out they are not when you need them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

As above really - lots of "smart" repairers about who will replace that section for not a fortune, or try for a second hand seat in a breakers yard.0
