Appeal to IAS (VCS)

only if there is no evidence that the RK was not driving and really who gives a Tommy Tit what the IAS come up with ?
armed with such information if VCS persist against the RK without adhering to POFA they're ripe for a counterclaim for misuse of personal data
A statement "I was not the driver please refer the matter to the driver and cease further processing of and dispose of my personal data " would suffice
is the paperwork POFA compliant ?0 -
True - and with VCS we know it will not be a POFA version.
The OP will need a copy of BOTH sides of the Notice to Keeper plus endless photos including the broken machine. Might be worth a punt and as you say, could be worded to set up a clear run at a counter claim if the rk states they were not driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Folks,
Been a while so I thought I would update this thread rather than start a new one. I didn't end up using IAS, instead I invited them to use the Consumer Ombudsman, via a template letter, and received no response (if other than an acknowledgement and some other guff - I am looking for the letters, they've been put somewhere 'safe').

Fast forward to this week and I received a letter from BWLegal, with the usual guff about paying and CCJ's etc. What isn't clear is if they are dealing with it as a debt collector, or as their role as solicitors prior to it being taken to court. Ironically they state I have failed to raise an appeal within 28 days, which is a complete lie.
I have read the newbie thread again and it refers to debt collection letters and to ignore them. My query is as above, I'm not sure whether to ignore it or respond and tell them to get stuffed as I can't tell what sort of letter it is. It does refer to 'The Collections Team' however I don't want to ignore if it's a legal one as that might not go down well with a judge - any help appreciated.0 -
Who does the letter tell you to pay? (That's usually the biggest clue as to whether it's a real LBCCC). If it's ZZPS / DRP / Zenith etc. then it's simply a debt collector letter on a Rent-A-Letterhead paper.0

Thanks DoaM,
It tells me to pay BW. So I take it I ignore it? Or bother with the whole "The debt is denied" etc type letter.0 -
If it says the pay BWL (i.e. acting as solicitors for VCS) then I'd be minded to class it as a real LBCCC and respond accordingly. (See the NEWBIES thread).
However there's no need to rush things - wait until some other regulars get a chance to see this and respond.0 -
There are examples in post #2 of the NEWBIES thread about LBCCC response.
And tons more in the forum with a quick search for obvious keywords. Covered every week, here's another one from today:
