Find and IP address ?

Hi,

My Wife has been receiving quite rude emails and we think it's from someone she sacked at work some time ago. Obviously I have no way of proving this and am not really bothered. However it is really upsetting her and I wanted to prove to her that it is this sad individual. I have the originating IP address and have done a search on 'Whois' but all it tells me is that it comes from someone using "blueyonder"

My question....is there any way I can find out any more details ?

Incidentally the IP address is 82.34.200.25

Thanks very much for the speedy response but I was hoping that I could find out a local area from which it comes, (Not sure that's even possible ?)

Closest that I can get is that it's London - pretty big area tho...:rolleyes:

Are they personalised, addressing issues or people known to you? Doesn't the email address give you a clue?

You aren't going to be able to get more than the ISP (unless they are running without a firewall and router)

Nah the email is fairly obviously a new/temp one (hotmail) so no clues there at all.

is the informatio i got from the iP lookup

which as it is a blueyonder server mean that it is a private residence rather than business - obv it is not to sure about the precise location and the person could be hiding behind a proxy server

is your wife using a yahoo/hotmail herself - if so just block/spam

Report the abuse to Virgin on the e-mail from Skint1s post. Attach as much info as you can and the results from the posts in here.
