Ebuyer refuses my refund

I bought two hard-drives off Ebuyer, which came wrapped in paper, I put them both in a PC as replacement - main drive and back-up. I installed everything and then tried to back-up some files to the second drive, but it was clearly not working. I sent for a replacement from Ebuyer and was granted a replacement as soon as they received the damaged one. Before I could print out the return label etc., the main drive failed and took all information with it including bank details etc. Eventually I managed to save up and purchase a laptop and restart the returns process, but after contacting Ebuyer they're having none of it. They say it's too late, but I say that's not my fault because the details went with the other drive I purchased from them, so now I have two faulty drives that they say I'm not going to get a refund for, not even the one they said I could have a return. This is the end of the conversation - I recorded all of it and have the request granted form also.
Scarlett: But you have not returned the item to us and the return as now closed.
Me: Because the other drive failed with all the details on it. The second drive, I bought two remember.
Scarlett: I appreciate that but I can't advise any further as the items are 292 days old.
Me: Yes, and now you know why, because you sold me damaged goods.
Scarlett: As I have advised previously we need to know within 30 days if you have received a damaged item. (Me - I did let them know and a return was granted).
Me: Can you get a manager to call me please.
Scarlett: I can see if someone is free to talk to you now.
As no one has replied to me in the last couple of minutes, I am now going to close this chat. If you need anything else, please get back in contact with us. Have a nice day, bye.

RMA Request 1383857
Hi Dave,
Thank you for contacting the Ebuyer Returns Team. Your RMA request has now been approved and you have been assigned the above unique RMA number.0 -
Just wondering then if I'm entitled to a replacement or not, please.0

Could you not have accessed another computer / phone and logged into an email account to access the details that you needed? Ebuyer also upon receiving the damaged goods would have just refunded the payment card used, so no need to find missing bank details.
Even local library's have printers that can be used to print off a returns label.
I can see you having problems with this one on what you are claiming. However the item likely came with at least a one year warranty, so as you have had it less than this, you could contact the manufacturer, send the payment invoice and get a replacement? A hard drive should certainly last more than 292 days. One of mine is about 6 years old and works pretty much 24 hours a day.0 -
Your having a laugh if you think they'll hold the return open for best part of a year!
You could have gone to a library or something0 -
Drives under manufacturer warranty? RMA them with the manufacturer?
A simple and pain free process, dont so what i did once though. Got the returns label and it sat there until the warranty had expired and i mixed the drive up with a load of faulty ones.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
