I don't think this "win" is all it's cracked up to be.
My senario (live 217 miles from Newcastle.
Fuel to travel to Newcastle
say a 17.30 depart from newcastle to Amsterdam - dinner on boat
arrive 09.30 the next day - breakfast on boat
lunch in Amsterdam
boat leaves 18.00hrs same day as it arives (only 8.5 hrs in Amsterdam)
dinner on boat
arrives UK next morning - breakfast on boat
travel back to home another 217 miles
say £25 fuel
dinner on boat £10 (x2) £20 - probably a lot more than that
breakfast on boat £5 (x2) £10
lunch in Amsterdam £15 (x2) £30
dinner on boat £10 (x2) £20
breakfast on boat £5 (x2) £10
fuel to get home another £25
parking at ferry -? say £10
so your "win" would cost an absolute minimum of £150
I have "won" one of these trips but if any one wants it send me a pm and its your for zilch !!:cool:0 -

Depends on how far you live from Newcastle (in my case, not far at all - which is why I entered). We're going to catch the train up and not bother eating on the boat (have a big lunch, take snacks for supper & breakfast). Obviously, doing stuff for the day in Amsterdam will cost money and there'll be the cost of a few beers on the boat.
In the end, it's a day out in Amsterdam for the cost of a train fare to Newcastle.latest win: LOTR: Moria - thanks to catz
- I'm moving to Australia in April - will the competitions be any good there?!:rotfl:
