Late payments every month after settlement

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction as I am feeling exasperated! I agreed a partial settlement on an old loan account, my cheque was sent and cashed by them in February 2016 on the proviso that the account will be closed and my credit file marked as partially settled.. HOWEVER they are still marking my credit file every month as "late payment" I have tried calling on numerous occasions, have written letters and emails all to no avail. I need to do something about this so I can start to rebuild my credit score. Your help would be much appreciated.

You've given no idea who it is with. Some people might have specific advice about the lender if you say who it is.

I assume you got the agreement to close it and mark it as partially settled in writing?

If so formal complaint to the lender. When their complaints process is exhausted go to the ombudsman and the information commissioner. Tell them in your complaint letter that you intend to progress it unless you are happy with the outcome.
  • Thank you for your reply The company is Creation Consumer Finance if that helps? I do have the written agreement from them. I feel like I have exhausted their complaints procedure so will go to the ombudsman/ complaints commissioner and hope something happens!
    Thank you for your time
