DRO and Budget Form

Hi all,

I am just about to send my DRO application but I have a question regarding the budget sheet. The intermediary have said my partners wages need to be included. I don't work and have been signed off sick through long term illness.

All the debts are from credit cards before I met my partner. I'm not quite sure why she is included on the budget sheet when the application is in my name. Even if she is included how does her income directly affect my debts?

Thanks

  • It doesn't have to be done this way at all, but if the end result is the same then it makes no real difference. Some intermediaries prefer to do it this way that's all, but if you are unhappy at that then ask them to work with just your income.

I'm guessing the intermediary wants to know your partner's income so he/she can allocate the expenses proportionately. Your partner's income should not appear on the application.

+1 for this. If you have 2 people working and 1 doing the dro, it's done to check the expenditure is fairly split (ratio set by % of income, not 50/50), so your intermediary is obviously asking in the interest of treating all their cases fairly...
  • I contacted a different intermediary who said I can do a solo budget sheet. They just needed to know what income I get and which outgoings I contribute too.

At the end of the day it's your declaration. Let us know how it works out for you.
