  • Hi guys!

Thanks so much for your replies, and apologies for taking ages for replying - I haven't been on this board in a while.

I think what you guys are saying is Go Go Go!

I knew that the Australian Government were encouraging people to have children - but I never realised the incentives were so great or that the population was mostly oldies. I do have some family in Australia - but my parents are in the UK, and so are my brothers and sisters. I think that's really the hardest thing about leaving (we are such a close knit family) - but I cannot bring myself to raise my kids in the UK. I want them to have the 'outdoor life' and go on adventure drives/camping/exploring wildlife - be completely aware of their surroundings and learn to respect people as well as the environment. I know this can be done in the UK too, but it's not the same!

What draws us to Australia is the laidback mentality and how open it is...i mean there's just so much space! We don't even have a garden here, and having a look at the local parks - even I'm terrified of walking through the park in fear of being set upon by the hoodies.

I think those who have moved with young kids says it possible, then I think I can and will cope with it! I'd just have to! I suppose we all find our own way with managing and coping - I'm just afraid it's gonna be really hard. I'm just imagining all the baby luggage I'm gonna have to schlep onto the plane.

But you're right, I don't want to cause too much confusion to my child, so will have to move by the time they are 3 at the absolute lastest (but most likely 2years old).

Shazraz, I might just give you a 'hoy' nearer the time!

Ahhh, I'm getting excited and nervous at the prospect of moving, now that I have majority approval ;)

    thanks guys
    xxxxx
