  • Elderflower cordial made with fizzy water and add a slice of lemon = Elderflower presse and Citron presse is a slice of lemon squeezed into a glass of ice, sugar added to taste and topped with fizzy water (pop the lemon in too) add a sprig of mint and Robert is your fathers brother! Both very refreshing and always feel just a little bit 'special' also very affordable.

I quite like tonic water with lime cordial added.
  • Sparkling water (or still) with cucumber, lemon and mint is gorgeous, and blueberry and raspberry water is slightly sweeter without being sickly- just let the whole mix steep for a 10 minutes or so before serving.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
  • I recently had an alcohol free caprainha (sp?) which was lots of crushed ice, a little mint, fresh lime juice and then topped up with 7 up. It was delicious. Maybe the full sugar one would be better than the diet one if there was a problem with sweeteners.

Had some Baileys late last night breaking both my sugar and alcohol rule.

Have a migraine from hell this morning (screen is darkened down as I type) but am not sure which component is behind it. The answer must be to avoid Baileys altogether.

  • If you get one of the living herb pots from the supermarket you could offer fresh mint tea, which always smells lovely.
