I'm getting together on the daytime with a group of friends , mostly a coffee and cake thing but I also have some Aldi fizz to offer and one of my friends can't drink alcohol because of migraine. I've got some of the Lakeland flowers that you put in a wine glass, can anyone suggest aan alcohol free drink? Thanks

I agree with VfM - avoid anything with aspartame, it triggers my migraines too, and was like Rocket fuel to my eldest (ADHD) before someone warned me off of it.
You can get some lovely sparkling waters with natural flavours or make some homemade lemonadeNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

I stopped for coffee at a high end cafe just across the road from Harrods yesterday. Once I'd sat down, I decided I didn't really fancy a coffee after all, and looked at their menu to see what else was on offer.
I chose freshly squeezed lemon juice with ice and fresh mint, with sparkling mineral water poured over - very refreshing, not too sweet, different from the ordinary run of juices - and something you can definitely do at home. You'll probably manage to do it for a bit less than I paid too...No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Interesting about aspartame. I will bear that in mind as we sometimes eat together.
Thanks for these ideas0 -
You can get alcohol free wine- I'm severely intolerant to aspartame and can't have alcohol for medical reasons and the alcohol free wine is lovely. My favourite is Eisburg- Tesco sell the red, white and rose versions. The rose version is lovely- looks and tastes just like the real thing without the alcohol.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

If she's only mentioned avoiding alcohol, I wouldn't worry about anything else. If she's not avoiding it, it'll be in other things she eats anyway so a glass of something bubbly won't make any difference.0

Spiced hot apple juice.....heat it up gently with mulling spices, no extra sugar is required. I dilute it slighty with water.
You can buy an expensive cordial that's on the same lines which can be made up with hot water or cold with fizzy water or ginger beer....
We also do a cocktail of ginger beer and pineapple juice....we call it dishwater!
Feels festive, great for drivers and children!
Could use cranberry juice....
F**erTree ginger beer is expensive but free from nasties but I like Idris ....and yes, it gives me a migrane if I have more than one!
Whether or not you think any of these work with coffee? Well!0 -
She must know what she drinks - why not ask her?

Shloer might be a good alternative.. I'm tee-total so tend to drink that when others are on the bubbly.Anchor yourself to the foundations of everything you love.
