Is it worth repairing my washing machine

I was working fine this morning but there was water on the floor, needed a new door seal. It wasn't obvious till machine was pulled out that there was water underneath.
WM was unplugged before being moved out
It was put back, now has no power but all electrics are live. The power point no longer works either.
Is it worth repairing or would it not be worth buying a new control panel part.
Machine is 6 years' old but was fine. So upset as have been unwell

Do you mean the wall socket? If so, does the washing machine work if you plug it into another socket?0 -
Possibly the kitchen socket / half the mains board / all the mains board has tripped at the mains board (also called consumer unit or fusebox). Check this first once socket has dried out.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

No it doesn't work in another socket. Could have been a lose wire when the machine was moved. TBH I think it will a new machine. Such a shame as it worked well.0

Hang on - the machine was working fine before, now it's not working ? And all that's been done is the door seal changed ?
OK, approach this logically. First, plug it into a socket that you know is working - test this by plugging a table lamp into the socket.
Second, look at the inside of the plug - are the wires all seated correctly and securely ?
Third - check the fuse in the plug is working. Check this by replacing it with a known working 13A fuse from another appliance ( a kettle is a good idea ).
Eliminate the obvious before you consign an expensive piece of kit to the scrapheap ! Even if none of the above solves the problem, it may be worth getting a repair man out to have a look at it, before you shell out hundreds on a new machine.0 -
Thanks, the machine's control panel now working. Door seal still needs replacing. It is something to do with our wiring rather than machine. I will test machine.0

As above check the washing machines wiring and plug. Its quick and easy to do. Unplugging and moving the machine may have damaged it or highlighted a problem.0

Working fine, need to order door seal but put towel down, just glad I don't have to replace washing machine for the time being.
Thanks0 -
Sure it's the door seal?? Not just a leaky hose underneath?0

having the floor wet everytime is going to ruin the floor covering, I would also check for a loose hose, on ours the little one that ran between the pump and the coin trap/filter came off.0
