If my product is in for repair under extended warranty and they decide to replace the item (this is a PVR) and I have 4 years remaining on the original product is the warranty transferred to the new replaced item?

You should do, although the warranty runs from purchase date so you'll get the remaining 4 years rather than a new warranty for whatever the original period was. But check the warranty wording to make sure, you may need to update the serial number.0

So would the replaced item be under warranty with the same terms0

You need to read the terms of the warranty, some will continue and some will end on product replacement. (i.e. Argos will continue the warranty if the item is replaced by the manufacturer but if Argos replace it the warranty ends)0

You also have recourse with the company from which you made the original purchase for 6 years from the original purchase date.0
