Energy Switching

On 12th November, I initiated an energy switch to I Supply on their 33 month fixed deal. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from I Supply stating that they had received a rejection from the gas regulator and that the transfer could not go through. After a considerable wait on the telephone, their customer services person said that the problem appeared to be a partially incorrect address and that they would re-apply but that my transfer cannot now take place until 20th January 2017. This means that I am now stuck for 3 weeks on my current suppliers standard tariff. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and do I have any means of redress? I would add that I have switched several times before at the same address (where we have been for 9 years) without any problems.

I would have a gentle chat with ISupply and remind that there is a Standard Licence Condition that requires a transfer of supply within 35 days of application to switch. If they put the wheels in motion today, then I calculate the 20th January is 44 days away. As far as 'who is to blame', that is going to be difficult to prove. It sounds like a data entry/transmission error somewhere in the Antediluvian system known as 'industry procedures'.0
