Landlord Said They Are Starting Court Proceedings Over Rent Arrears

As others have said, talk to them. It sounds like you've gotten yourself into a bit of trouble, but with housing benefit coming along, you can hopefully offer some assurance that it's not likely to happen again. Going to court requires time and effort - if, as you say, you can pay £500, and give them the promise of an extra £50 or so each month on top of HB until the rent is back on track, there's no reason why that wouldn't be seen as a reasonable offer.0

So what is the full rent amount?
If £260 is the shortfall?
Are you entitled to the full rent amount in housing benefit or only the 260 top up?
