license revocation: how long it takes to re-apply
Hello,
I am a driver and my license is gonna to be revoked very soon as it will accumulate 6 points. Now I have 20 days left to handle my license to the police. To my understand, the police will forward my license to DVLA as they see it gets 6 points, then the DVLA will decide to revoke my license. Now the problem is that whether should I terminate my insurance and even sell my car as I have no idea how long the process will take. Anyone has the experience know how long it takes for the police and DVLA to proceed before I can apply for a new provisional license? Thanks!

You'll be informed by the DVLA when you can re-apply for a licence, usually you should be sent a reminder 56 days before your ban is up and with this you can reapply for a license.
And as far as I understand it you'll get a summons to court to decide the length of ban, the DVLA don't decide this, the courts do.

I believe the OP is talking about a revocation under the New Drivers Act, not a ban. If that's the case, the DVLA will write to tell him, and he can then immediately apply for a new provisional. As soon as he has that, he can apply for the theory test.
His question is how long the DVLA will take to write. Probably not long, as clearly it's not in the public interest to delay.0 -
