Car Seats Cleaning

Hi

This is something that I have always dreaded and is my worst nightmare. I lent my car out to a family member and apparently my little nephew sat in the car but stepped on the seat whilst doing so. I have a Seat Leon Emoticon which I absolutely adore but have no idea what to use to clean the seats. I am a bit apprehensive about using wipes or using water.

I should't have allowed them my car, however I had no excuse this time as I am currently off sick from work and my car is just sat there.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I personally would take it to a local car valeter and get it cleaned professionally. You could spend as much on the right chemicals and bits and bobs to do it yourself as would get it done right.

If you tell them you specifically only want the seat / seats done it shouldn't cost much.

    Tell them to clean it?
Find out how much a valeting service would charge to clean it, then ask the relative to pay*

Take it to a valeters and pay yourself?

I'd attack it with the VAX using the upholstery attachment, but if you don't have one, options are limited. You can buy cans of magic spray that foam and "lift the dirt off", but you want to avoid washing the dirt into the cloth.

    * This provides the perfect reason never to lend them a car again, because "last time there was a footprint on the seat that cost me £50 to get cleaned off"
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Your worst nightmare is a shoe mark on a car seat...?

How bad is it? You'll probably find a damp cloth'll sort it just fine.

Baby wipes are about the only thing that ever get used on my car seats. When I got rid of my last car after 10 years from near new I was asked what I used to keep the upholstery so clean !
