Morning chums,
I feel it's very warm today, given it's December.
I've been to the gym this morning which means I have an evening free tonight. I think I'll tackle wrapping some presents and hopefully get them finished. Another thing off the list.
Jackie - That's such sad news about the dog. I heard on the radio earlier this week I think about a woman who's dog was given 3 months and they made a bucket list for him. So he done things like swam in the sea or had an ice cream from mcdonalds or had a doggy makeover etc. Was a nice touch.
Camelot - Good luck with Currys! I would say go to the local shop, I find the people in the store to be much more helpful.
nmlc - Enjoy your day off
TA - Delighted to hear the great news about Mr TA and also your DS. He sounds in a much happier place.0 -
Morning all,
Not posted for a bit, just seems hectic atm,but love and good wishes to all the poorlies, and thanks Tru for the carols.
Poor DH and DS set off to do a job yesterday morning, headed towards Manchester in the rush hour only to find the job was no where near ready so not best pleased ended up at home again, and the home owner is an architect so should have known better. On the plus side DH painted the hall and landing which was very mucky mainly due to Lyla shaking herself when its wet before I can grab a towel.Looks so much better. Its raining hard so I'd better put the towel at the door and grab it before I let her in after our walk.
Met up with 'the girls',3 of my old school friends for lunch yesterday and had a good chinwag. After tea started clearing up and found our water pressure greatly reduced.DH went outside, the men were still working on the road repairs, turns out the water main got cracked after a big wagon went over some work they'd just done
Came back and filled as many bottles etc as I could. The foreman came to apologise and said he'd rung UUtility who came after a couple of hours and worked till about 1am.I ended up going back downstairs as I could hear Ly1a whimpering -she could hear the digger.Heard a gurgling and it was back on ,luckily as we'd used most of the bottles I'd filled.
Off to help with the Nativity play this afternoon, should be fun
Take care everyone xxSave:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, sorry to hear about the dog Jackie, hope something can be done.
I went to the Drs last night, back for a blood test this morning, at 8 30 the place was full, luckily I got seen before 9.00. Came home, OH was still asleep, so I brought his breakfast through.
Washing on, but it's going to have to go n the dryer or on the airer it's raining.
Started the baby quilt, had to undo the first patch, despite using the go cutter the prices were off, so has to recut them, will cut down the patches and use them for something else.0 -
Afternoon.
Morning session was fun today even if one chap didn't turn up (family crisis), one arrived an hour late and one hadn't prepared his assessment task. I learnt some interesting 'stuff' about turbo and supercharger cars, building a PC and hacktivists. Now I have to write up my assessments.
My lovely neighbour came and altered the water jets on my car so now the water comes up high enough to clear the part of the windscreen I look through. The task involved a safety pin, a torch and a lot of fiddling around. I thought the jets were under the bonnet but the are in the bonnet and very small. Anyway, job done and I'm happier about driving in such mucky conditions.
It's almost balmy outside! Lunch is just about ready.0 -
JackieO
Fingers crossed that something can be done to help the dog and that you have him for much longer in a happy condition.
I need to go and post a parcel for dd later and will get some mince pies or shortbread to take to WI tonight. I thought about cooking something but trust me no one would want my baking, savoury is eatable but anything else has to be made by a dd.
A helping of cottage pie, two portions of a chicken and veg rice dish and soup has been frozen and I have ordered a Christmas meal hamper with bird, trimmings and veg along with a beef joint to arrive on the 22nd.
Youngest dd and middle dd are staying over for a week so I want to get things ordered in advance. They are planning to do some decorating and painting upstairs while they are here which is really thoughtful.
Hugs to all, especially Hilstep, lainey, LWW and coxy."This site is addictive!"

Good evening,
Just a quick one as very tired, wanted to wish JackieO all the best of luck and possibke happy resolution for Bowie xx
Good nightFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Late one from me. Didn't post yesterday as it was nephews birthday and I kept myself busy all day. DSis went out for a meal with her family and was very upset understandably. Think she was seeing a couple of funeral directors today to get an idea of what they offer and timeframes. Still no news from the coroner.
My boss isn't in tomorrow so I'm hoping for an early dart. Need to go buy wrapping paper for the few presents I have bought. Also need to tally up what else is needed present wise and what we will eat. Just can't get into the spirit of things this year, it almost feels disrespectful to my sister Iyswim?
Jackie - I hope the second opinion for Bowie is better.
Hugs to all those in need.
