London Hotel - Family Rooms

Can anyone recommend a central London hotel with family rooms for a weekend trip within a sensible budget.
Our party would include 4 x adults and 3 x kids, so looking for 2 x family rooms but the prices for this type of room wherever I look seem extremely high.
Plus all of the various travelodge & premier inn central London hotels are apparently fully booked for the 2 x January weekends that we are considering, which I find difficult to understand.

Where in central London did you have in mind?
Probably cheaper to stay a little further away and travel in.0 -
You will pay premium rates for Saturday nights in London and usually need to book well in advance for the best rates in the budget hotels. if you could avoid a Saturday night stay you will usually have better availability and cheaper rates. Family rooms get booked up quickly.
As the above poster says it may be better, this last minute to look at hotels on the outskirts of London with good transport links. Wembley High Road Travelodge (avoid the other Wembley TL ) is £34 for Sat 14 Jan currently and beside the tube/train station.
Edit: sorry all family rooms are booked up at Wembley High Road for the given dates only doubles left).
Wembley Park Premier Inn has family rooms for £50.50 on 14/1/17 and it across the road from the tube station. Metropolitan and Jubillee lines go into there so direct line to Waterloo for The Eye, House of Parliament, Big Ben etc. London Edgware PI is £31.50 for same date and 5-10 minute walk from Northern line tube station. London Archway PI is a new hotel beside Archway tube station and £61 a night for a family room for the same date. 20 mins on the tube direct to Waterloo. 10 mins to Camden Town for the Sunday markets. 15 mins direct journey to Charing cross for Trafalgar Square and nearby Queens mounted guards close up pictures at Archway. 25 mins with one change at Leicester Square to South Kensington for the Natural History, Science and V&A museums.
If you are willing to take a chance you could look at the Happy Monday Accor hotels deals on the Monday before you go to see if they have any availability. Sometimes they have good central London hotels for £40-£60 for the following two weekends.

We would be arriving into London via train, so I was hoping to find somewhere near Euston or Marylbone.0

So which station are you looking to be nearby? Euston and Marylebone stations are several miles apart.
The more centrally you stay, the more you will usually pay, and the more booked up hotels will be, so you need to be more specific about your requirements. Assuming you'll be doing some sightseeing by tube, I don't see any necessity to have a hotel near your terminus station? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

For the budget hotels like Travelodge and Premier Inn check in time is usually after 2pm and as your time is so short and there is so much to see and do, it is probably best to arrive early morning and bring back packs.0 -
My preferred London hotel, Croydon Premier Inn, has the Sat 14th Jan for £36. It's right next to the station and trains take 16 mins to Victoria or 17 mins to London Bridge.0

If you really want zone one, the Crescent Hotel is close to Euston & St Pancras and isn't super expensive, considering its location http://crescenthoteloflondon.com/RoomRates.asp?Rates_Reservations=true
Or Ibis have many hotels http://www.ibis.com/gb/city/hotels-london-1-v2352.shtml
Some are close to Euston and around £100 a night, others out in zone 2/3 (for example at Greenwich) can be around £60. Greenwich would also be a good choice as there are several museums, the Cutty Sark and a great market.0
