I think that's quite generous limit and a good rate with defaults! They gave me £5k @ 12.9% I don't have any defaults.
  • I had 3 active defaults between 3 and 4 years old now which were paid via a zola loan about 6 months ago. 3 or 4 months ago I got a HSBC 32 month 0% balance transfer card with a £5500 limit and last month got a barclaycard balance transfer/ purchase card 0% with a limit of £5,500 that's on top of my barclaycard cashback card with £6,000 limit. I started with a cashplus credit builder about 2.5 years ago and went from there, barclaycard initial (now my highest limit and lowest interest and a cashback card) aqua card and worked my way up. It is possible to get good credit with defaults, just have to work at it. FYI some companies do not give credit to the financially scarred. I have banked with santander for about 15 years now and cannot get close to a credit card or overdraft dispite never going overdrawn and mostly run a credit balance of 1k+
