Creation Credit Card-Something Holiday Maker Should Know

Nonsense!
I've had no problms using my cards, but then I do use them as credit cards. To let them know you'll be using it as a credit card (noting the other comments about cash limits)?
You did read the terms and conditions, didn't you?
FWIW they haven't stopped my cards.

As a matter of fact I agree with Roger and have just come back from a trip to New York and the Caribbean where I used the card in New York and four different islands and had absolutely no problem having the card accepted wherever I used it.
In fact I've been impressed from day one with the card and have found the customer service very helpful and efficient, which makes a refreshing change.
However, I haven't withdrawn any money on the card ( I try to avoid this if possible) and would always take two or three back up cards as well.A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -

I'm in Asia at the moment and hit the same problem with cash withdrawals. I'd taken out the card deliberately based on advice on this site.
I did fail to take to take note of the cash withdrawal limits though, not least as I clear the balance immediately to avoid interest on cash withdrawals and thought this would negate the limits.
I switched to another card, and filled in a query with Creation. Received the following less than 24 hours later:Thank you for your email dated 8 December 2016 regarding the declined transaction on your Creation Everyday Card.
I can confirm the overall cash limit allowed is £1500. The reason your card was declined was due to failing the day group amount. This means the amount you attempted to withdraw was greater than the limit MasterCard have in place for cash withdrawals.
The daily limit is £300.00 and weekly is £500.00.
If you are making multiple attempts from an ATM this will register as exceeding this limit,. Please note, once a cash transaction has been approved I would advise you to wait 3 working days until you try again so this transaction drops off the balance.
I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you whilst abroad.
Incidentally, when I need to phone my bank etc from overseas, I tend to use VoIP (voice over internet) using DidLogic.com using a VoIP client of my choice (there is one built into the phone app on Android) using WiFi (and a VPN for security) or mobile data (cheap on many local SIMs in countries in Asia), which means the calls are very cheap (best to look up the equivalent standard UK phone number rather than use any special numbers though). I use this in UK as well rather than paying for minutes on a phone plan.A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but ignorance is lethal.0 -
I don't hold one of these cards, but do Creation not advise the cash withdrawal limits including any limitation on foreign cash withdrawals?0

The £300 daily limit is understandable but I am sure that I have used the same MasterCard to withdraw more than £500 a week in foreign cash withdrawals.
Is this something specific to Creation issued cards?0 -
Ah, that might explain how I "missed" it
Their email referenced standard Mastercard limits but I couldn't see such standards on the Mastercard website, got the impression this was down to the individual banks.A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but ignorance is lethal.0 -
I think it's a classic case of not fully reading the T&C's. I've used credit cards abroad in the same way so just assumed this was the same.
A lesson learned for me but to be honest does anyone read the pages and pages of bumph that comes with the T&C's?0
