ABS warning light on megane

Hi
I have an X-reg megane coupe, and the abs warning light is constantly on (for a few days). I cant feel any difference in the brakes, which passed an mot and full service just a few months ago. I heard there may be a connection to adjusting the seat (which i did a couple of days ago) causing the warning light to come on on the dashboard - anyone else heard of this? I believe other causes include sensors in the wheels and other specialist stuff, but given the apparently normal braking, does anyone else know anything about this?
Cheers folk

I have a n X reg Megane and the same light has been on for about a year! It also means that the service light is always on. I took it in ASAP to a reliable mechanic who checked it out and said the ABS was fine and that the only problem was with the sensor. He said that it would cost tonnes to fix and wasn't worth it.
He now checks my ABS thoroughly when my car goes in for an MOT and service (which works out as being every 6 months).
I would have it checked out first though!0 -
Don't think he should pass a car with an ABS light on, to be honest. We don't.
As for the wiring under the seat, that applies to the airbag light coming on, which is common on most cars.
However, back to your Q. ABS light will be on for a reason. Most probably there is dirt around the pick up or the 'O' ring has a crack in it. Either way, its worth getting it checked out...0
