Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone could help me please? My wife and I are moving from a rental property to a house we just bought (woo hoo!) and trying to sort the broadband out. Have been with BT for a while and am trying to get a better deal.
The best deal I have found is a new BT customers only package. Does anyone know if I can cancel the contract we have in my name at the rental property and start a new contract in my wife's name at the property we just bought? It'll save us about a £20 a month if we can!
Thanks!

Of course you can.
However if you're still in term at the current property, you'll need to pay the remaining balance of the contract term when you cancel.0 -
Thanks. I thought I could but then I started getting doubts!0

You will lose the number you currently have, if that is important to you.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Usually "new customer" just means a brand new installation so the customer name wouldn't matter particularly anyway. Don't forget that you'll have to pay a disconnection charge (usually ~ £30) regardless of any early termination fees when you cancel at the old address.0
