getting from Heathrow Terminal 2 to Terminal 3

I've got a trip booked that has me connecting flights through Heathrow.

I'm arriving into T2 and departing from T3. Its all on one ticket, with my luggage being checked all the way through.

Realistically, how long does it take to get from T2 to T3 ? The flight connections guide on the Heathrow website is quite a blunt instrument and doesn't go into much detail.

What detail do you need ? Unless it's changed in the last couple of weeks it gives you a suggested time based on your flight profile i.e. whether you're inbound/outbound, clearing immigration etc etc

Assuming it's a through ticket then they obviously believe the connection is achievable.

Do you want to share the specifics and maybe we can give views

The ticket was originally issued and gave a connection time that was 10 mins above Heathrows Minimum Connection Time to get from T2 to T3.
One of my flights has now been rescheduled and the connection time is now 5 mins below Heathrows Minimum Connection time. My through ticket gives me a 70 minute connection, Heathrows MCT is 75 min from T2 to T3.

This is the 8th schedule change I've had so far (no big deal, I booked in September, and I'm flying in July). On the other 7 occasions the airline has contacted me promptly, but on this occassion, although my online itinerary has altered to reflect the new flight times, they haven't been in touch.

In which case contact airline and ask them - plenty of factors that could impact on not managing on 70mins. Is there an earlier/later option for either of the flights ?

My current option is the first flight of the day, on my the best aircraft choice, with the ideal seats assigned to me and we'll get to our destination at the most advantageous time possible.
Win, win, win & win again.

There are several options for later flights, the downers being later departure, longer connection and getting there later than I would have hoped to be there.

The airline seems to think the connection is viable, but Heathrow says allow longer.

BUT - the airline no longer sells the flights that I've got booked, so I suspect that a "your schedule has changed, here are your new flight details" email may be in the offing.

(Not that) deep down, I'd prefer longer than 70 mins for a connection !!

Have you logged in to your booking and made sure that nothing has changed?

Assuming that your booking with the now illegal connection stands, all that you could achieve by contacting the airline would be to make things worse for yourself. The main risk is that the airline might notice shortly before your flight, by which time no seats (or no 'good' seats) are available on the next departure giving you a long wait at Heathrow. Otherwise your chances of making that connection are good, although your checked luggage might not make it (generally a plus since then in most countries the airline delivers it to you hotel).

Yes, I've just looked again and its showing 70 mins between arriving in T2 and departing from T3.
Thank you for mentioning the luggage, you may have just decided things for me - we're just overnighting at our arrival airport in the US, before flying out early the next day.

I feel a call to the airline may be in order (especially as one of the later flights currently has my seats of choice still available !)

Thank you both - a lengthy conversation with the airline has moved to me to a later flight.
I can now look forward to enjoying the ambience in Heathrow Terminal 3 for a while !

Geographically T2 and T3 are pretty close, they're both in the central terminal area (unlike T4 and T5), so it won't take long to walk between them.
