HELP! U.K. Car park management court claim forms

Hi,

If anyone can help me I would be extremely grateful. I parked in flex gym in Uxbridge for ten minutes and then left. A few weeks later I got a PCN post. Nothing was put on my car, it seems the owners took a photo of my car etc. I followed advise on the forums here and was told to ignore it. I then got an email from Gladstone solicitors saying they would reduce the payment and then I got about three final demand letters. I ignored them all as per the advise I have read. Now I have received a county court claim form stating that I owe £148.33 for the ticket with interest plus £25 court fee and £50 legal representatives costs totalling to £223.33. I really don't know what to do as I read to ignore all private parking tickets. I am now worried this will go against my name and credit etc?

Thanks
Miss b84:(

£148.33 was NOT the amount quoted on the signage!

You misread everything here if you thought you were to ignore everything! That is NOT the advice in this forum.

This will only "go against" your name if you lose in court (or ignore the claim) and end up not paying the CCJ in full within 30 days of losing/getting a judgement by default.

Read up in the newbies FAQ thread on preparing your defence and follow the links there to other sources of advice in dealing with a court claim

First thing to do is acknowledge the claim which will buy you an extra 14 days to get your initial defence together

What did you do, build a time machine to go back to 2012 and read the forum then? The 'ignore' advice hasn't been valid for 4 years.

Everything you need to know is here:

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

The advice to ignore is pretty old, if not ancient, and can lead to things going wrong.
However its still out there and being banded round in places like pubs, workplaces and amongst friends. For now you are in the right place for advice.
I would strongly suggest reading up and following the advice on here, as well as looking to Google: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=youve+been+gladstoned&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=WiFHWJutHKfA8gfz0riwCw#q=youve+been+gladstoned&nfpr=1

You should also have read never to reveal who was driving.

So edit your OP to remove any references that do identify the driver.
