Nationwide and Overdrafts

I recently sat with my sister while she applied for a Nationwide Flexaccount. She already has two current accounts with Nationwide. As this account is only being set up for a switch she did not request an overdraft. Upon the application completing and being accepted a confirmation screen showed than an overdraft has been granted.
I was prepared to accept that perhaps she had accidentally ticked a box or not un-ticked one perhaps requesting an overdraft and thought that we'd just check once the account was set up.
I've just applied for a Flex account myself to replace one I'd upgraded to a FlexDirect as I would like to make use of the Travel Insurance again. I avoid applying for overdrafts where possible as I have applied for a lot of Current Accounts recently (16 since June). Once again, the confirmation screen show that I have been accepted for an overdraft despite not requesting one.
Has anyone else experienced this? Naturally, i'll check the details when I receive them but it's not something I've noticed on any other account application.

Full potential bank account facilities are usually discussed before an application is started and then when application has been run through then whatever facilities are actually offered are then discussed again. An overdraft should only be put on if agreed with a customer.0

There never was an overdraft set up on the account.
Perhaps what I read was an indication of the size of overdraft they would give me if I requested one.0 -
Nationwide do show you a limit they would be prepared to lend you on an overdraft or credit card. Partner recently opened a FlexAccount and was immediately shown a prospective credit card limit.0
