Who can change my electricity meter?

Just moved into a new place and the meter is "superdeal tariff" and from looking on forums looks like a terrible meter to have.

I called the current electricity supplier who were practically no help, told me that they couldn't tell me what rates I was on, give me an account number or speak to me until I had been put into the system and then told me someone would call me back in just over 2 weeks, during which time I would automatically be on the standard tariff which I dread to think how expensive this is going to be.

I just want rid of the meter so and it sounds like the people I am with currently are going to let this drag out for at least a couple of months at this rate.

no other energy suppliers really want to take on one of the superdeal tariff meters but could I switch suppliers and then ask the new supplier to get it swapped out as a faster option?

You need to get the current supplier to change the meter for a standard or E7 meter - which may involve some wiring changes to be carried out at your expense by an electrician employed by you - then change supplier. Trying to switch supplier with this meter will invariably end in tears.
