Large insurance excess(car)

I have just changed my car and the only way to make the policy cost reasonable was to agree to a large excess. When looking for a way to reduce this I found a firm called goodbye excess.
on the face of it they will cover my £500 excess for £38 per year. prior to this I have only used this type of insurance for a hire car. Has anyone else heard of this company or this type of insurance? if so is this a good way of reducing car insurance costs? Any info would be gratefully received. Thanks

Not heard of that company but have heard of the cover.

Note - For cover to apply, the excess of the motor insurance policy must be exceeded by the value of the successful claim payment



Its not a straight replacement for a lower excess.
