Free TomTom with ING Direct

Today I have received a letter from ING Direct saying that if I put £5000 into a new ING Direct Savings Account I will receive a free TomTom sat nav. Investment must be made by 31 Oct and the TomTom will be sent out by 17th Nov. It's by invitation only so it's no good me putting up the promotion code on here.
Anyone else receive this offer? It sounds too good to be true. I called them and asked which TomTom it is and they said they didn't know. Still, any TomTom is worth losing a couple of months interest on £5000. There is the small condition that "ING Direct has the right to offer an alternative gift of equal value" and that they can withdraw the offer at any time. Can anyone see any other catch?
I've signed up but not sent my cash yet. I know their rates aren't great but with no conditions attached on how long the cash needs to be in their account, it's too good to miss.

grahama... welcome back to MSE... you don't seem to have posted for a while!
This post is really in the wrong place for advice like this you would be better off posting in the Savings and Investments bit... afterall it is only a freebie for you and then only if you happen to have a spare £5000 floating around!
To decide whether it is worth it you need to calculate how much having your money with ING is going to cost you compared to stashing the cash in the best paying account!

Thanls for the post but....
sorry but this is not a freebie and if I had £5000 in the bank I would not be on here looking for freebies! If I say something you like....Please hit the thanks button :beer:0 -
Sorry guys. Obviously I've put this in the wrong place. I'll try to do better next time.0
