A caller line display praise.

I have a cordless phone which usually sits next to me so I usually answer the phone within 1-2 rings.

Then I got caller line display :j and started to screen the calls.

Now when my wife's sister calls I don't answer the phone and instead yell to my wife that her sister is calling and for her to answer on another extension.

This of course results in her sister having to wait for 6-8 rings before the phone is answered.

Now the sister is moaning to my wife about the length of time taken to answer the phone and my wife moaning that she has to get up from where ever she is to answer the phone.

Also when I get a call from a know spammer I answer with scammers anonymous how can I waste your time? and proceed to do so if they don't hang up.

I've had caller display for many years (over 10 yrs I think) and it's been very useful. My OH worked shifts and even on his days off, the company would ring asking him to work............to cover for someone who was off sick. It was great to see who was calling (the company), ignore the call and not be badgered to give up a day off yet again.

My latest cordless landline phone has caller display AND it speaks out loud "Call from Sophie mob". So I don't even have to look at the phone, I can hear who is on the line and decide whether to answer the call or not.

Get a multi-unit setup, then your wife can have her phone with her.


Another plus,with ours (a Panasonic) is that it can be used as an intercom or for a three way conversation ( with two handsets or more if you add units).
