Trouble setting up Chromecast

I'm having problems setting up my girlfriend's Chromecast and would appreciate some help

Everything works fine until I get to the connect to wifi section, after a short period searching it returns the message that it can't find the network. If I check her setting there are two possible networks to choose from; vodafone123 (her ISP) and Chromecast 456 (her Chromecast number) which one should she connect to?

Also I've read that Chromecast only works with the Chrome browser. Is it necessary to have that preinstalled before starting the setup?

I'm confident that we are using the correct password. My GF has two devices an iPad (that's what I'm attempting to set it up on) and an iPhone.

Any advice appreciated

She needs to use her mobile to connect the chromecast to her ISP network.

Chromecast works with loads of things, but if you want to cast tabs from your computer, yeah Chrome Brwoser.

    Select the Chromecast device.
Not really built for IOS. I think you can only cast Netflix and YouTube, unless you use the Chrome browser. You don't need it installed before you set things up.

There are lots of Chromecast-enabled apps, certainly on Android anyway. The main one I use is Plex ... I have the media server on my PC then use the Plex app on my phone to cast media to my TV via Chromecast.

I also (before I got BT TV with Sports) used to use the BT Sports app on my phone to cast sports channels to my TV.

Got my problem sorted, ran the connection through her iPhone rather than the iPad. It worked and I'm number one again :D
