Are you sure you don't want a landline?
£8 per month for unlimited anytime calls to geographic numbers starting 01 and 02, non-geographic numbers starting 03 and mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079 beats any deal you can get on a mobile phone by a very large margin.0 -
Thanks but I never really use landline as need to have mobile anyway and have unlimited calls on that already. Out of the house for 10 + hours a day for work normally so landline is no use for me at all. Landline probably works for people who are at home most of the day every day only.
What I really want is semi decent broadband for when at home and some tv channels that I actually watch (no sport, no kids channels, no movies).
Cheers0 -
When at home how are you going to get the broadband if you do not have a landline to receive the broadband data .It becomes very expensive to use a satellite or mobile data to replace the landline .
I don't want a landline really should be i don't want a phone service not I don't want a landline to receive broadband data over ??0 -
Well Virgin provides broadband without a phone line at all so was wondering if anyone else does too?0

Its without a phone package .
The phone line as you call it is the VM cable just like the BT line its what the data comes down .0 -
Oh dear... just forget I asked, everyone knows what I mean but still nitpicking which is not helpful in any shape or form. Whatever - stay in your self importance bauble0

However you'll find that the price VM charge for stand-alone broadband is almost as much as if you took the phone service as well. So, in effect, you are paying line rental in all but name.
There is no way to avoid line rental if you want broadband delivered by ADSL, FTTC or VM cable. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Vm pricing is improving.
And at least you don't have to deliberate where to pay line rent in advance0
