BitComet

One of my kids has downloaded something called bitcomet and I don't like the look of it. The problem is i can't see how to uninstall it! Ccleaner says "Error 5 invalid procedure call or arguement" and i can't even find the uninstaller. I'm runnng Vista if that helps.

Any ideas?

i had this on my computer and its a filesharing type thing

you will find the uninstaller in program files\bitcomet.

it doesnt remove all of the files, so i rebooted into safe mode and deleted the bitcomet folder in program files. im running xp if that makes any difference

Strictly speaking it's against forum rules to discuss programs such as that although maybe discussing removing them is an exception. Have you tried a system restore? The last recourse if it was me would be to delete the folder the program is in and then clean the registry. (I'm assuming this would be ok on Vista as I don't have it).

Noone said it was illegal. I just mentioned the forum rules (absolutely no discussion of filesharing/p2p). Read the rules (which is a good idea for everyone to do anyway since we all agreed to them by registering) yourself if you don't believe me.

What about under the C: drive, Program files as in Gaming Guy's advice? Assuming file structure is same as XP.

I've switched on this morning and its all disappeared! Ccleaner must have removed it even though it came up with that message.

    Thanks all
