AirPlay and wireless speakers

Help! My wireless speakers are doing my head in!
Bought Jam Rhythm speakers a few weeks ago and work fine playing my music, Spotify etc. from iPad using the Jam app, but will not connect via AirPlay although they're meant to. I've tried resetting wireless router, the speakers, my iPad - everything! My iPad will only show my AppleTV in the control panel, no speakers at all. What's going wrong?

I previously sold my Bose wifi Airplay speaker via e-bay though it was advertised as airplay compatible. What is you sound/music source, i.e. Tv/cable/sat/laptop/mobile?

I found Airplay easiest via macbook/iphone.

Tried both iPhone and iPad but just shows AppleTV on both. Changed my wi-fi from 5.0ghz to 2.4ghz but still the same result

Have you tried itunes via ipad or Apple music not sure if it will make any difference though itunes or apple music should be able to select your wifi speakers.

Are both devices paired to the router? That is normally the problem. You normally have to pair using the wireless password for each device. The signal has to go through the router. Imagine a block of flats were everybody's devices could talk to each other. People's music would be being played on other peoples speakers. You need to pair the devices then the router knows they both belong to you.

Yep, both paired as far as I can tell, and speakers are working fine with app. Have come to a dead end!

Which iPad do you have and what version of iOS is it running out of interest?

*Other than the ones you've tried above i.e. resetting your WiFi router etc.

Which Jam Rhythm speaker or speakers do you have?

Are they Apple airplay compatible if so there should be an app to pair your speakers.

My previous Bose Airlink speaker had to be paired to local network before being recognised via mac products. And is your speakers wifi+bluetooth,, might be worthwhile trying both sources.

I was logged into Spotify via the Jam app and got distracted by something in BuzzFeed and lo and behold the audio from the clip I was watching suddenly emitted from the speakers!!! Still can't select the speakers in the Airplay control panel, though. So weird!
