That is interesting.
It says only 30kwh leafs or over, yet the data is from a 24kwh leaf.
I've registered interest, will see what they sayWest central Scotland

Latest email I had from them is 24kwh outside of battery warranty (5 years/60k miles?) could also take part. However I think you have to go onto an ovo tariff which are all so expensive they negate any savings from v2gI think....0 -
Not if they are paying 26p for export... and you export alotWest central Scotland

Switching to their cheapest leccy tariff would cost me an extra 450pa....I would need to export an awful lot to make that up!I think....0 -
Ouch.
Fair point.
What's your tariff just now then?
I was looking at the quoted tariff on speakev and thinking 14.5p was just a bit more than my current 13.8 from bulb, but a quick quiz at ovo for me says 17p/kwh and 28p standing chargeWest central Scotland

I am on 11.7p/kwh until next Feb  and use a frightening 8,ooo kwh pa (actually probably about 9,000 including on use pv plus another 1000 of pv diverted to the iboost that would no longer make sense with paid for export).I think....0 -
Not near future, but some interesting battery news.
Jeff Dahn Claims New Pouch Cells Could Be Good For 1 Million MilesIn an article entitled “A Wide Range of Testing Results on an Excellent Lithium-Ion Cell Chemistry to be used as Benchmarks for New Battery Technologies” and published in the Journal of the Electrochemical Society on September 6, Dahn and his colleagues report the development of a lithium ion pouch cell that “should be able to power an electric vehicle for over 1.6 million kilometers (1 million miles) and last at least two decades in grid energy storage.”Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Warning - the next sentence may upset a lot of people!
Two Tesla PWII's for $30 per month.
Green Mountain Power in the US has been rolling out PWII's for a while now at low rates as part of it's VPP (virtual power plant) initiative. Kind of makes me sick ..... with envy!
Tesla & Green Mountain Power Launch New Flat Rate Solar + Storage BundlesAll Green Mountain Power customers who own their homes are eligible for the new program as long as they are willing to install solar and storage at home. The two Powerwalls help Green Mountain Power grow its ever-increasing pool of residential energy storage that has been pooled together into a massive Virtual Power Plant (VPP). These distributed batteries allow GMP to pull power from the distributed pool instead of having to start up a peaker plant when the grid needs more power to cover surges.
The $30 for two Powerwalls price is the same monthly price that GMP was offering to customers back in 2017 when it first rolled out its $15/month for a Tesla Powerwall deal, just without a downpayment. Since then, the utility has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars thanks to the VPP, including during a single heat wave where it was able to leverage the distributed batteries to save $500,000 in a single week.Mart. Can somebody tell me makes of inverter that allow the battery to be charged at a preset time (i.e. overnight) please. And are there some types of export meter that just measure passage of electricity regardless of direction? I ask because I am in "debate" about whether charging the battery from the mains could enable you to show a falsely enhanced export meter reading and thereby cheat on your FIT payment. I myself could not do this because my meter measures Export and Import and the primary display is the net reading which is Export minus Import. But maybe they're not all like that, I don't know.Reed0
