Howdens & Benchmarxx Kitchens

Hi,
Need some advice please.
We have a small 3m x 6m kitchen, have just received a quote of £6k from Howdens for cabinets and worktops only (no appliances) so went back and asked them to drop the price which they did by only £800 !
We also have asked for a quote from Benchmarx.
Do I go back to another branch of Howden and get another quote-which is not my ideal kitchen by the way and see if they quote us less or go to Benchmarxx and tell them Howdens have quoted us £4k-£5k.
What cost should I expect for a small kitchen with no appliances?

I'd try DIY-KITCHENS.com - they were much cheaper for a set of cabinets that I was going to get from Benchmarx - £4K cheaper. I'm in the process of fitting it all and it's better quality too I think. SErvice from them has been excellent - you just need to do your own design or get one from one of the others and use that and be prepared for a 7-10 day turnaround on any damage or mistakes which you will get on a big order. My advice if you have the storage space is to order early to give you time to check and fix before you start fitting.0

We were quoted a lot less than Howdens by Benchmarx, but Howden's matched it when we told them. Benchmark then lowered theirs again when we told them and Howden's beat it again. We got the kitchen for about half of the original quote.
Would have gone with DIY kitchens but tbh I couldn't be bothered with the ordering process. Howden's were similarly priced after we'd played them off with Benchmarx and I thought any delivery issues would be quicker to sort with a local company.0 -
I was going to go for DIY but they came in at £3300, and Howdens came down to £3700. For the sake of a few hundred pounds, I went with Howdens who have swapped things in and out as I changed my mind, did a few versions of the design so I could vision which colour cooker and appliances to get (not from them) and all in all, they've helpful. Both my builder and I have been dealing with them, but they went over prices etc with me directly. Recommended.0
