Home insulation tips & tricks

Hi everyone,
I live in an annoying cold flat that has only electric in it for heating, yet I pay a lot on keeping it warm, but I feel loads of warmth is lost from drafts coming in from different points around the house. Not good.
I was wondering if people were willing to share their stories of best insulation strategies (DIY ones- not ones hiring a professional) to make their home warmer. Obviously you can find materials (e.g. door frame self-adhesive insulation liners) in your local hardware shops, B&Q, screwfix, etc. but which ones are really value for money?
Thank you for your inspiring (and money-saving) contributions to this thread!

Have a look at the 'Preparing for winter' thread over on the Old Style board - it's chock full of brilliant ideas.0

Thanks, they are a collection I see. Is one better than others? There's plenty of off-topic arguing going on, would be nice if the information was compiled for easy reading.0

It certainly would but someone has to compile it - fancy the job? The first post in each of the threads has some links to previous threads as well as other useful bits and bobs but otherwise it's just a matter of reading through and picking the bits of info that work for you.
Here's the link to the first post of the current thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/51223600
