Anyone else had problems of double charging at Malaga Airport car park?

On the 30th October and also on 1st November, I tried to use my debit card (Mastercard issied by Metro Bank, UK) in the automatic car park ticket payment machine at the car park P1 belonging to Malaga Airport (AENA), Spain.
On both occasions the card was refused, the machine displayed the message "DENEGADA" (Declined), and I was forced to use cash in order to pay the parking and validate the ticket so that I could leave the car park.
However, later I found that both transactions had been charged to my account. I am trying to find out from Metro Bank what is going on. It is not clear at the moment whether it is fraud or a technical problem with either Malaga Airport's machines, Mastercard's network or with the Metro Bank.
I would welcome any comments from anyone who has had the same problem or has anything else to add.

Well, my bank has decided to treat it as fraud and has given me my money back. So I am satisfied. I don't think I will use a card at that airport again though.reallydismayed wrote: »I am trying to find out from Metro Bank what is going on.0
