House sale almost complete, new house no where near?

We sold our house and had an offer accepted on a house want. But the house we are buying isnt regisitered and the solicitor is really slow so the purchase is at snails pace compared the the sale. What do we do? The people buying ours are renting it out so i dont think theres a rush but they did offer to rent back to us if we didnt find anywhere but i dont feel comfortable doing that.

No - it seems you have NOT sold your house yet. Or if you have
    a) where are you living now and
    b) why did you not link the sale and the purchase

Property sales/purchases always take longer than people want, or expect.

    Be patient.
  • Sorry i didnt write that correct. We accepted an offer on ours which is progressing alot quicker than our purchase. Can we tell our solicitor to set the exchange date to come inline with the purchase.

Of course. That is what normally happens.

In fact if the same solicitor is acting for your purchase and sale, he will probobly do that automatically unless you tell him not to!
  • Thanks ive messaged my solicitor to ask if this still can be done. Was so easy first time around but 2nd time seems so much harder.

Your solicitor will not Exchange Contracts on either deal unless/until you tell him to.
