O/S Daily Monday 5 December 2016
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark here, but bitterly cold and a very hard frost - cars look like they have a covering of snow at first glance.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work. DS2 still in his pit, will wake him in a while.
Lunch yesterday was a bit late, as we went to visit both sets of parents, and we got the car washed. I prepped the veg before we went out, then just needed to follow the recipe and cook the duck once we got home, the duck was lovely and really tender, enjoyed by us all, so definitely a recipe I would cook again. Tonight we'll be having gammon, egg, chips/jacket potato, and peas.
We were very chilled after lunch yesterday - so nothing much achieved, although I did prep all the pack ups etc whilst the lunch was cooking.
Keep safe and well x

Well good morning all x
Cold and mega frosty here. 1st day of freedom today and loads to do.
DW to empty. WM to go on. Ironing to do. Bread to make. Dinner tonight is chicken pasta bake from yesterdays left overs .
Must sort my bedroom today as it has become a dumping ground for Xmas presents and I can no longer her to my chest of drawers without moving stuff. Need to deep clean the bathroom and kitchen today as well. But first a nice cuppa and a catch up on my forums.
DH already left for work and DD2 getting herself up at 7 so will have to wait and see if she manages it without me waking her.
FIL still hanging on so no change there.
Anyhoo better get on.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -
Morning all, thanks for the thread nmlc x
Getting an earlier train this morning. Need to do a meet and greet for my boss this morning with an important person from Scotland (I would tell you but I'd have to kill you...) as a result I have hardly slept aaargh.
Table top sale at church yesterday raised nearly £800 for our appeal (new loos, improved worship area) and santas grotto takings still to be given to me. All great news and something to feel good about after the gloom of recent weeks.
Dinner will be mac n cheese courtesy of DS2
Happy that Scarlett was crowned queen of the jungle and happy with the semi finalists for scd.
Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No frost here but it still feels flipping cold.
I have just set a pan of chicken broth simmering away for Mr TA's lunches over the next couple of days. There is a plate of roast lamb dinner to warm up for his dinner tonight. I'll have the remaining new potatoes and veg with maybe a piece of fish. So an easy cooking day ahead.
I have the dreaded second blood test this morning but what will be will be. Sick of worrying about it and not going to moan on any more about health problems.
The promised sort out and reorganisation of the freezers STILL hasn't happened, maybe this afternoon!
Have a good day and (((HUGS))) to everyone in need/want of them. Take care whatever you are up to xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Master tru is proving impossible to buy for. I asked him what he wanted and he said socks :rotfl: I asked him if he'd like slippers and a pipe too, lol. He's a carpenter, I've found a mug that says 'sawdust is glitter for men' and he loves the walking dead so I've bought a Haynes zombie survival manualApart from that, I'm out of ideas – he just doesn't want anything.
Cold and frosty here, I've turned the heating up. I need to update the spreadsheets today and check the online banking. I'd like to try out my new garland to make sure it's long enough to weave along the banister, but I can't because there are 8 large sheets of plasterboard leaning up against it in the hall. Ggrrrr. I've bought a few new Christmas things over the last few weeks, they're in a pile on a table at the moment, I'll go through them today and make sure they actually fit the places I bought them for

Morning all,
First day Ive woken up and not felt dreadful all week :jstill full of cold but I think its on the way out, Lamewolf and anyone else suffering I hope its not a bad one x
TA good luck today let us know how you get on.
Back to work for me today but only 7 days to go before I break up for Xmas which cant come quick enough I am mostly organised so want to spend the time off in the run up doing nice things without having to rush around.
OH has come down with the lurgy so will stay at home today, dd has had it so hopefully will escape another dose.
DD took me out driving yesterday, its one of the strangest feelings ever to have your 'baby' driving you around ! she was very good though and felt safe, although I will worry when she goes out alone.
Going to get some mince out for dinner and have a spag bol we have not had that for ages.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Quick one from me, the car needs defrosting - it's freezing out there (and not too warm inside either!).
Gearing myself up for another week of workmen, I have to order the flooring today, I've been given a note of what to ask for.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better. Hugs to all. Take care. XX0
