Validating XML files

This is a bit of a grasp into the ether - does anyone know how I can validate a BIG (minimum 800mb) XML file with an XSD? I've got 16gb of RAM on my Windows 8 laptop.. but I struggle to open the file in most editors (e.g. Notepad++ chokes) let alone validate it.
Ideally, it'd be a command line tool optimised for 64bit Windows.
