The people to ask are the hospital, how can anyone here know without knowing which hospital it is?

Maplin do a 7" but used, Argos seems to start at 19" others from 22".
also would I get a good picture with an indoor Ariel or would it fuzzy

Again who knows, we don't know which hospital. But with digital is normally picture or no picture maybe with some break up.

It's unlikely that you would be allowed to take a tv into a hospital as nowadays any electrical equipment used in offices and similar has to be checked for electrical safety etc before use. Aside from that I can't see them letting anyone clutter up the place with a tv and an aerial plus power leads trailing all over the place.

A completely different alternative would be to use a larger screen tablet with headphones and for someone to download BBC programs via iPlayer onto it for him to watch at leisure.
  • I think most hospitals disallow large electrical items brought in from outside. I know that they are available to rent from hospitals, however. :)

Rules are much stricter, now, but I was refused the use of a hair styler/dryer, years ago, because all appliances have to be safety checked.
