Hi all.
I want to hang a painting on the side wall of a stairwell. I can't reach over from the upstairs landing without fear of overbalancing and falling so I'm needing a plank of some sort I can walk along. I'll run this from the top step to the opposite side of the landing. What sort of thickness plank should I looking for? It needs to bridge a gap of 210cm. I'm about 13 stone. Literally have no idea!! Please can someone in the know advise...
Cheers all and thank you in advance!

Use two, one on top of each other and make sure someone is around should you fall.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Use two, one on top of each other and make sure someone is around should you fall.
And put a second set of boards tight up to the first ones to give you a platform. This will save you if you step back inadvertently.
Ideally the platform should be four boards wide.
Boards can be hired - I have been paying a £1.20 per board per weekend.0 -
