Ainsworth Benson

Hi,

I received a letter today in the post from a company called Ainsworth Bendson.

They want me to call them on a free phone number (0800). Saying its an advise line.

I have checked there web site ainsworthbenson.co.uk & it was only registered last month which rings alarm bells also i can find absolutely nothing on Google about them.

Anybody know if these are a legit company?

Thanks

Scott

They're another compo company. Do you have need for a compo company?

    Hi All
I also received a letter from this company a few weeks ago, but when I searched online there was no website, nor indeed any other trace of them online.

I did, however, note that their address on the letter was given as 'Virginia House, Great Ancotes Street, Manchester.' This struck me as odd, as I used to deal with a (very definitely legit) company based in the same building, but the street was 'Great Ancoats Street', which I believe is the correct spelling. I searched for the other spelling but found nothing - hardly surprising when Ancoats is such a significant area in Manchester's history. I duly binned the letter.

Today I've received another letter from Ainsworth Benson, still mis-spelling their own address, another online search led to this thread and learning that they now have a website. I checked that and wasn't impressed that a link to gov.uk in fact takes you to a fee charging heir Hunter company.

I'd be wary of this company, and I've reported them to Manchester Trading Standards. If I get any further info I'll post again.
  • I received a similar letter a couple of weeks ago from this outfit, done some research and binned the letter.

Last year i was contacted by a solicitor acting on my behalf for a heir hunting firm, as my late mother had a substantial unclaimed savings account, so knew the correct process.

  • Thanks for the advice. I received a letter today & although very wary, I telephoned from my land line (which I never usually use & didn't want to have my mobile number come up on any system) There is only what can only be described as an odd answer phone voice, much like a cartoon character telling me my call is important etc. I was half hoping they would answer as I wanted o see their tactics. My gut tells me this is a scam & I have binned my letter.
  • I received a letter from this company and spoke to them. They are chasing people to claim PPI payments. I requested they remove my details from their system which they said would happen.
There were 2 spelling mistakes in the letter which is now binned.:T
