As a female born June 1954 does this mean I won't be getting my WFA until 2021? Man born same time will be the same. I don't receive any allowances at present.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

On a more serious(?) note -where is the logic in giving us the other benefits of being past SPA ie Winter Fuel Allowance, bus pass, eye tests etc but NOT the risable Xmas bonus?
Christmas Bonus is paid to people who received one or more specific benefits in the qualifying week. It is not directly connected to age as the Winter Fuel Payment is.0 -

As far as I can see you reach State Pension Age in March 2020. So, assuming that the WFA is still in place and operating under the same qualifying rules, you would get your first payment in the winter of 2020-21.0 -

That's our experience. We look upon it as a noble sacrifice to keep the NHS running.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -

Bus passes were dished out to men and women based on the women's state pension age, so it was 60, and has been increasing to keep in line with the current female state pension age. It was deemed unfair for men to wait til they were 65!

So someone born May 1953 just 13/14 months before June 1954 would get their WFA a lot earlier. Perhaps WASPI might look into this on behalf of men and women.:rotfl:Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -

And there's yet another age-related inequity in the Winter Fuel payment!
You only get the payment if you are eligible in the "qualifying week"; it's usually a week in late September (19-25th Sept this year). So if you reached SPA on 19th Sept this year, you get the £100 WFP; if you reached SPA on Sept 25th (or the 20th?), you get nothing (until next year).
PS: My Xmas bonus arrived in my bank account this morning.0 -

I wouldn't have expected somebody with "getting on for £1m in various investments" to be quite so excited about a £10 Christmas bonus.0
