Yes. They're also doing Netgears cheap with a USB dongle for another £5.
  • Yes that one looks good, I have this one which cost £26.45 http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=2104&prepg= and it works well for me.

The Netgear one also looks good at £43.95 http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/52244

I would basically stick with either a Netgear or Dlink router as they are the top routers. Having bought and installed lots of Netgear routers for friends, family and clients etc the one that I would recommend is this one Netgear DG834G Wireless Modem Router Bundle with FREE WG111 USB WiFi Adapter @ £44 from ebuyer, its the best deal at the moment.

Linksys routers are routers that are produced by Cisco the worlds No1 in networking, however the linksys brand is about to disappear as Cisco are discontinuing them and having a new product line under the Cisco name.
    Cheers

I am not sure if all routers that have "gateway" in the title are all the same but my mate bought one thinking he could connect other pc/laptops to it wirelessly and he could not unless one pc was connected by a network cable and was running..with my home hub router I can connect a pc/laptop wirelessly with just the router swiched on.

STAMFORD: shouldn't you leave the dated technic behind and go for a more up-to-date one ?
As for Router with "Gateway" in the title, it's just a normal router. I think your mate might have problem either with his router or adapter. I have 2 of those (2.nd is an updated to a newer standard) and I've never had such a problem.

Thanks I've ordered the Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway WAG200G - from dabs @ £45.91 delivered
  • I think by Gateway I'm assuming you mean "Built in Modem" ? as routers do not always come with a built in Modem

Personally I'm a huge Netgear fan & have had the DG834G,GT,Pre N & N routers and can recommend all bar the Pre N which IMHO was terrible I've also had Run & installed for others Linksy's/D-links & Belkin's and haven't had many problems with any of the others apart from Belkin Who's Pre-N (again) Router was terrible & in fact died on me in the end.

But i've always found Linksy's really nice pieces of kit & even if they do switch the name brand to Cisco again it'll have little effect on the equipment & support you receive but netgears GUI is much nicer and easier to use IMO so for me i'd stick with them + the DG834G is a sexy little beast too
