How much powder do you need to add and could it be opened in advance? If it's not a very tiny amount, might a powder dispenser of the type used for baby formula be an option? You would need to add the sachet of powder to the dispenser in advance but then you could tip it into pretty much any bottle of water - I think Fruit Shoots come in 200ml and the bottles can be reused for a while. The hole where the powder comes out usually has some kind of lip around it so it sits inside the neck of the bottle, which should make it easy enough on a bus etc.

I would suggest looking at the dispensers before you buy as they may be too big for the amount of powder you need.

    Something like this

Hi all, just after a bit of advice.

I have to take powder medicine mixed with water, and I'm looking for the best type of bottle to do it in. It needs to be about 200ml, with a wide neck, and watertight enough to shake.

I was actually wondering if a baby bottle might work best but I'm not sure how waterproof the top is, especially without a teat.

What about a beaker - the sort found by the Tupperware section in supermarkets?

I've found the Asda ones costing £1 (they have a silver coloured lid) to be ideal for talking milk to work - I measure 250ml of milk into the beaker and there's plenty of room for more

    It's a 4g sachet, I hadn't heard of those dispensers, I'll have a look for them, thanks.

Just had a look online, thanks, it might be a bit big though (I'm not good at visualising sizes), but I'll be going to Asda tonight or tomorrow so I'll have a look.

Have you asked your chemist? He might have something suitable.

When I go on holiday, or away for the day, I use a baby's bottle. You can measure the correct amount of water and they come with a disc that fits on the top before you screw the top bit on for shaking. Usually the neck is wide enough to tip the powder in without spillage.

I use a plastic cup with screw top lid everyday for work for taking milk. I know you might be cautious because of the cheap price but I guarentee it is leak proof.

You can get Addis brand tubs and beakers in most cheapy type of shops like home bargains and wilkos.

I use these beakers regular when I'm making a batch of soup or curry for the freezer too as they are just the right size for a single portion.

If you don't fancy trying these because of the cheap price, you can see what lakeland have as everything they sell is tested for quality as well as value for money with instant refunds if you are not happy.

I would think that anything on the baby and toddler isle in supermarkets should be leak proof.

Mine must have been didn't then as it was forever leaking ...unlike the Asda ones!

Thanks everyone, I've found a kids bottle in Asda similar to one posted by Tigs that looks like it'll do the job and is the right size.
