New Laptop

I am having to get a new laptop and one I am looking at has Win 8.1 loaded.

Can I still download Win 10 for free and if so where from as I have had it on the previous laptop?

    Why not buy one with 10 already installed? Can you give us a link to the laptop?

    It's also advisable to consider what you will be doing with the laptop. Games, photography, or just surfing, shopping, FB, emails etc?
    I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

    You can Windows 10 for free directly from Microsoft. It's the licence key you need to pay for.

    The free upgrade period from Win 8.1 to 10 has officially expired, although Microsoft have been allowing users needing accessibility features to upgrade free. I don't know if they've closed this "loophole" yet or what the licensing terms actually say.
